The Sea of Cortez

The Sea of Cortez is alive in a way that is hard to explain until you are out there. It holds 39% of the world's marine mammal species, with whales, dolphins, mobulas, and other wildlife moving through by season.

How we operate

Small-group expeditions with a pre-departure safety briefing. We never bait, chase, touch, or feed wildlife. We linger, wait, and only get in the water when conditions and animal behavior make sense. Coast Guard-grade life jackets, marine radio, GPS, and on-board first-aid are on every trip.

ABOUT US

Our Story

The Founders and Team Behind Bajablue

Bajablue Tours is run by its founders and a small local team of experienced guides and boat crew. The company was founded in 2025 to share small-group marine wildlife experiences from La Ventana, Baja California Sur, a quiet fishing village 45 minutes south of La Paz International Airport (LAP) and 2.5 hours from Los Cabos (SJD). From this single launch point, our boats reach the productive waters around Cerralvo Island in under 90 minutes.

The story of Bajablue starts with a love for the water around La Ventana: orcas moving through open channels, mobula rays gathering in schools, and whales appearing when the season and the day line up. Bajablue exists to help small groups experience that world with patience, local knowledge, and enough quiet to let the ocean set the pace.

Bajablue was founded on a simple conviction: ocean encounters are better when they are patient, quiet, and never forced. We do not bait, chase, touch, or feed wildlife. If an animal does not want to interact, we leave it alone. If the moment is right, we wait for it to come to us.
